'Minecraft' has Sold 176 million Copies Worldwide


Microsoft announced that they have sold 176 million copies of Minecraft which is quite a hop over the 156 million figure it announced just seven months ago. Despite the hype surrounding games like Fortnite, Microsoft has kept the game in the forefront with new features like the Dungeons online co-op, a free browser version, a forthcoming movie and, most recently, an augmented reality version known as Minecraft Earth. Microsoft also announced that it has reached 200 million registered users of Microsoft China edition, and that 130 million Minecraft "Hour of Code" sessions have been completed.



When it starts to ratchet up the beta program for Earth the figures could really explode.  Minecraft Servers The new game is more immersive than Pokemon Go, the mobile AR champ. It's very exciting. Microsoft plans to gradually release Minecraft Earth around the world and will be launching a closed beta starting this summer.
